Atty. Benedicta Du-Baladad, Founding Partner and CEO of Du-Baladad and Associates (BDB Law) moderated a Panel Discussion with Mr. Jeffrey Manalo, Public-Private Partnership Center (PPP) Deputy Executive Director V, Undersecretary Renato Reside, Jr., Fiscal Policy and Monitoring Group - Department of Finance (DOF), and President Mr. Eduardo Francisco, BDO Capital and Investment Corp., who shared their policy perspectives on investing through PPP and the impact of the Ease of Paying Taxes law to businesses.
Atty. Dick also expressed her satisfaction with the Ease of Paying Taxes (EOPT) Act, noting that it is very taxpayer-friendly overall. However, she pointed out that the transition from using Official Receipts to Invoices could significantly impact small businesses financially as they will be required to advance the payment of VAT before collection, thus affecting their cashflows for operation. The Department of Finance (DOF) Undersecretary acknowledged this concern and stated that they are currently working on improving the pain points of the EOPT Act.
This event was organized by German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
