The Women on Boards: Securing Your Seat at the Table event, hosted by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) Board Diversity & Inclusion Committee, brought together industry leaders to highlight the importance of diversity in corporate governance and equip women with the tools to secure independent board roles.
In celebration of Women's Month, the event recognized the invaluable contributions of women leaders in corporate governance and the impact of gender diversity on corporate performance.
Atty. Benedicta "Dick" Du-Baladad, ICD Chairperson, and Ms. Aurora "Boots" D. Geotina-Garcia, Chairperson & President of MAGEO Consulting Inc., led an insightful discussion on the dynamics of board leadership, the influence of women in decision-making, and practical strategies to help aspiring female directors break through barriers and secure board positions.
Atty. Dick emphasized that securing board seats for women is not just about individual achievement but about reshaping societal norms to fully recognize and embrace women’s leadership. She stressed that beyond earning a place at the table, women must be supported, empowered, and positioned to drive lasting change within corporate structures.
