Last August 13, 2024, The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) launched the PEZA ACADEMY as its learning and training arm. Its first activity was in partnership with Du-Baladad and Associates (BDB Law) in providing their members with updates on the most recent local and international tax reforms in a seminar titled "Updates on International and Local Taxation." This was attended by more than 1,000 participants via Zoom and approximately 200 participants on-site at the PEZA Auditorium, DoubleDragon West Bldg., in Pasay City.
Providing expert insights from BDB Law are its partners Attys. Mabel L. Buted, Jomel N. Manaig, Irwin C. Nidea, Jr. and its Founding Partner and CEO Atty. Benedicta Du-Baladad. Topics covered the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) Pillars 1 and 11 framework, the Ease of Paying Taxes (EOPT) Act, and the proposed amendments under CREATE MORE.
