Atty. Donato U. Vergara III, Senior Associate at BDB Law, gave his thoughts on the topic "Corporate Governance and Policy Advocacy: Balancing MNCs’ Interests with National Development Goals (NDGs) in Developing Countries."
He gave an overview of the impact of multinational companies on economies of developing countries. Coinciding with this impact is the important role of multinational companies to help developing countries achieve its national development goals.
Atty. Jomel N. Manaig, Partner at BDB Law, delivered a comprehensive discussion on Corporate Social Responsibility: Labor and Environment Sensitivity in Developing Countries.
He covered topics such the positive and negative impacts of multinational companies on labor and the environment and how corporate social responsibility, ESG, and sustainability goals help regulate the actions of these multinational companies.
The event was organized by The Organization for American Studies (AMSTUD), an accredited student organization of De La Salle University.
