Objective:
This lesson should guide you on how to optimize images for the web. The ideal overall file size should not exceed 200KB. Any excess will just occupy space on the server and make loading of pictures take longer.
Things to prepare and remember:
- Gather all related photos for a story article.
- Have a photo editing software. Ideal to use is Adobe Photoshop™️. Just find the latest version.
- Select the cover photo you will use for the home page. This cover photo has to be in 800w x 534h pixels.
- Ideally, we should keep all photos in the same dimension as the cover photo. However, non-cover photos need not be as strict as long as you try to keep the width at 800 pixels, height may vary a bit.

There are other softwares available to help you achieve this but the principle will be the same.
