The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) hosted the Global Governance Summit on September 19, 2024, at the Manila Ballroom, Marriott Hotel. Atty. Benedicta "Dick" Du-Baladad, Founding Partner and CEO of BDB Law, was a panelist together with Ms. Corazon dela Paz-Bernardo, Honorary Fellow of the ICD, and Dr. Gaizka Ormazabal, Professor at IESE University, on the topic of Sustainabilty.
Atty. Dick highlighted the pressing social issues facing developing countries like the Philippines, such as unequal distribution of wealth, limited access to healthcare, and education. She emphasized the need to prioritize social sustainability, asserting that while environmental issues are important, addressing these social issues is crucial for the well-being of society and future generations.
She stressed the need to craft our own path for sustainability as a country and people.
