The Philippines: Open for Business
Atty. Benedicta, Founding Partner and CEO of BDB Law, delivered a presentation on the Philippine business and legal landscape at the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) in a meeting with the Czech Republic's Minister of Agriculture and His Delegation during their official visit to the Philippines.
In her presentation, Atty. Dick, discussed the dynamic landscape of Philippine business and law, presenting the various reforms recently being undertaken by the government to attract foreign investments.
Atty. Dick presented the country's impressive growth trajectory, provided insights into the various initiatives to improve doing business in the Philippines including efforts to rationalize foreign ownerships, easing of regulatory restrictions for setting up businesses, the ease of doing business, and tax regulations and incentives.
As the delegation were mostly in agriculture, food water and aviation, she shed light on special rules and registrations and discussed recent developments in these area. She discussed the recent Executive Order on creating a water resources management, and dicussed potential business along this line, and in food security. She included opportunities in public-private partnerships for collaborative inclusive development.
In her address, Atty. Benedicta Du-Baladad not only provided valuable information but also fostered an atmosphere of collaboration and understanding, embodying the spirit of international cooperation and shared prosperity.
Atty. Dick highlighted that sustainability encompasses more than just the environment; it also includes social and governance aspects. Venturing beyond the subject, she also brought up social issues such as malnutrition and child stunting to raise awareness.
